The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions โ€” With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions โ€” but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. [โ€ฆ] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season โ€” particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
