Heads-up: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of heroes who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Why Split the Party?

Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.

Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Individual Reasons

Moreover, each character has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:

  • The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
  • The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • But, their position as important members in the powerful family could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the clan.

This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.

Future Episodes

From episode three’s Cooldown, we learn that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to round up the Seekers and Strategists tables.

Audiences can expect learning which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
